We are working closely with stakeholders to ensure that the needs of the Hispanic population are addressed through innovative research to develop new drugs and life-saving therapies. Our programs are closely linked to the Texas A&M Healthy Texas initiative to improve the health of populations throughout the state.

Be a global leader in providing the Hispanic community with increased access to the benefits of health care research.

Focus

Conduct research on diabetes and obesity, asthma, infectious diseases, neurological disorders, cancer and the opioid epidemic.

Collaborative Seed Grant Program: 2023 Request for Proposals

Now accepting applications! The aim of this program is to develop and promote collaboration between Driscoll Children's Hospital, the Driscoll Health Plan and Texas A&M Health to advance research aimed at eliminating health care disparities in Hispanic communities. This program will provide research seed funding for clinical research projects with teams comprised of clinicians and scientists.

GIHH Service Request

The GIHH provides a range of services to help healthcare providers and researchers better meet the health needs of kids in South Texas. To request assistance, please use this form and someone will contact you. 

Collaboration Networking Event

Join us and other researchers from Texas A&M University and clinicians from the Driscoll Health System to discuss research interests and potential seed grant research topics. This will be a hybrid in-person and online event which will begin with lunch, presentations about the request for proposals/application process, and information about data availability and management at Driscoll.
